Continuing on from Basic/Basic, this video soundtracks my reading of the next chapter in L. Ron Hubbard’s Dianetics to a video loosely inspired by the Oregon Trail video game series. As Hubbard spells out the nature of trauma spreading within a family. thus within a society or nation, I use the sugar-coated hardships of Oregon Trail’s depiction of westward expansion to possibly underscore the trauma at the core of American history. I use “possibly” in relation to my own confusion towards the text I’m reading.
